Such a fabulous vintage 1960s Asian style cocktail dress - and it's a Shaheen! The dress has the classic cheong sam styling that was westernized for Chinese tourists back in the 1930s - mandarin collar, short sleeves, diagonal upper bodice opening accented with fabric fasteners. The dress is fitted to the body with a series of darts with a body conscious silhouette. The skirt has 6" side seam slits at the hem, also detailed with self fabric fasteners.

FABRIC/COLORS: The fabric is gorgeous, a medium weight satin brocade in black with jacquard woven medallions - a ring of flowers (probably chrysanthemums or peonies) in pink, scarlet red, pale green and silvery gray surrounding an intricate center circle done in black on black. I believe the fabric is most likely rayon.
